I want to begin casting resin pendants and charms, similar to the one shown here: http://ny-image0.etsy.com/il_430xN.49958760.jpg

What is a good brand of resin for making something like this? Also, I need some advice on how to cast. Anyone know a good website that breaks it down so I won't mess it up? I know that particular pendant is made with stickers and glitter, which is what I want to cast. Anything special you must do to them before casting? Any details would be greatly appreciated!

I use Castin Craft Easy Cast.

I suggest you read the random resin question thread.

If it doesn't tell you how in there you can ask.

I have this sterling silver ring, and yesterday it fell and fell on my hardwood floors. It got a little scuffed up and some scratching. What can I do to fix it? Will a polishing cloth minimize the scratches?

Thanks. =)
I don't want to have to take it back to Tiffany's, I want to see if I can restore it on my own first.

Unfortunately, the only way to get silver jewelry (or any jewelry) to look like new is to have a jeweler polish it or refinish it.

I need some quick Christmas gift ideas for my mother. She's young at heart, has expensive taste, has everything she needs. For her bday I got her a really nice Coach purse so I'm trying to keep things on a tighter budget for Xmas (less than $30). I bought her a new tea kettle, but she came home with one just the other day so I took mine back.

I wanted to make a nice photo calendar for her, but it's too last minute and none of the photo centers can make one on time for Xmas.

She likes lucky charms, elephants, jade, gold jewelry, and all things designer (but I can't afford). I would make her something (I made nice bracelets for all my other friends and family) but I know she wouldn't really wear it. She also LOVES her Granddaughter (my niece).

I need some ideas so I can navigate through the crowds tomorrow. Any ideas…I'm open.

Thanks.

Krs.

I can tell you something from experience , I am a mother and Nana and my children touched me ever so when I got a Memories Of The Heart Book , it containes pictures and funny captions they made and hand made pictures from my 12 grandchildren . I have baby pictures of myself , childhood and wedding pictures and then of each of my 4 children and their families its stuffed with precious page after page of sentimental memories that brought tears to my eyes, tears of joy and love for how thoughtful they are to me. My Birthday was last week and of all the 62 years I have celebrated my birthdays and had expensive gifts by the dozens this is priceless and I have shown this to everyone and bragged on how blessed I am to have such wonderful children………this will last even after I have passed.
They said they got it at Kohls and had them on sale for buy one get one free. All I know is that woman are sentimental and love pictures of their children and grandchildren.

I need Xmas gift ideas for a woman that has everything. It's too late to make the photo calendar that I wanted.

About her:
early 50s but young at heart
stylish
expensive taste
loves lucky charms
is a doting grandmother
works a laborous job with her hubby
travels more than average
loves gold jewelry but has too much
doesnt like to cook frequently
has four dogs
prefers Chanel No.5 over any body splash set anyday
totes around lots of stuff in her purse
disorganized in an organized way
has lots of knick knacks

any help would be swell

Travel + lots of jewelry = travel jewelry box? Seems practical.

Lucky charms, maybe a charm bracelet that she can add to over time. A cookbook of easy 15 minute recipes, or maybe a dog themed calendar to keep her organized.

Hope some of these ideas help. Good luck to you!

magnetic healing jewelry can some tell medoes it work it is made of hematite

It appears to work for some people and not for others. If there is a chance of it working for you, then I would say that it's worth trying. http://magneticstyle.com/therapy-article1.html

I need a list of some of the precious stones used for jewelry making…it’s for a school project. In this “village” I’m the jewelry crafter and I need to know what kind of stones to use. I know diamond, jade, opal, amber, turquoise, and that’s about it. Oh, and I also need to know some of the medals used to make jewelry, such as gold and silver. It doesn’t matter what time period the particular stone began to be used in jewelry. Thanks!

Some stones:

Peridot
Onyx
Tourmaline
Moldavite
Amethyst
Ivory

Some medals:

Platinum
Copper
