yes i go to private school. i took this tight off the website. what do you think of this?

Though a great part of modern life now accepts very casual dress, we would like to stress the need for students arriving at school with a sense that there is an important purpose for being here and dressing appropriately. Hats are not to be worn in the building. Girls may wear one pair of post earrings on the ear lobe; we ask that boys not wear earrings. Only religious chains or scapulars are allowed as jewelry. No make up, tattoos, or bizarre hairstyles are allowed to avoid disruption to the learning process. Students will maintain natural hair color (no coloring, highlighting or streaking). Skirts and shorts should be "at the knee" or "just above the knee" in length. Shorts are not to be worn to Mass. Students will go outside unless the weather is severe; they should come dressed appropriately. Uniforms are required each day of school unless otherwise designated. The clothing in the Land’s End Uniform Catalog will be used. The school identification number on the back of catalogs used when ordering is important as it earns a rebate to the school.

i want to point out that it "earns a rebate to the school" as if they don't get enough money from the tuition.

* White t-shirts only under uniform shirts.
* No cargo pants, skirts, or shorts; no skorts; no flared or corduroy pants.
* Athletic shoes are allowed each day; dress shoes may be required for certain activities and occasions.
* Crew socks, knee socks, tights should be worn each day.
* Shirts are to be tucked in and pants worn at the waist.
* Belts are required for grades 4-8 on pants with belt loops.
* Sandals that wrap around the foot may be worn during the seasons when students wear shorts from August until the end of October and again starting in May until the close of school. Students will not wear clogs to school for safety.
* If a child comes in inappropriate clothing, after clear instruction about requirements, a lunch detention will be given.
* Teachers will ask students to remove items such as jewelry, fingernail polish or anything that distracts from the concentration in class.
* Students may not have electronic devices, games, and headsets at school.

i understand no electronics.

So what do you think? ( i understand some of the things but i mean the whole thing over all.)

that is completely ridiculous!
I wear tons of makeup, dye my hair every, like, two months and tease to like crazy.
im getting my nose pierced.
i paint my nails several times a week.
i text during school.
i wear huge dngly earrings and tons of bangles, necklaces, and rings.
i only own short shorts.
i wear flip flops 75% of the year.
skinny jeans, neon shoes, layered, bright shirts, vests, jackets <33333

I wouldnt survive in that school.
i do all that above and i get straight As, plus I'm in AP classes. those are not distractions.
thats the worst dress code in the world.
I'm sorry.
really.

k, I have a science project that i was assigned to do. we have to build a cube/square that is less than 20 cm. any ideas i could make.
if you don't understand what i mean, here are examples my friends are doing..
-cubix cube
-dice
- square make-up kit
- jewelry box
if you could give me the best idea, i will give you 5 stars!
thank you!!!

you can make collage cubies. here's the link -
www.creativity-portal.com/howto/a/collage/cubies.html

www.cubeecraft.com - this site has dolls/models made out of cubes http://www.cubeecraft.com/template.html - has the standard template
www.cubeecraft.com/blog - has ideas for various dolls.

make a cubix mug - use it to store pens, brushes, etc. Add a handle.

make cube beads & string into jewelery. spell out your name [or any message] by painting/adding letters to each cube. or just decorate with any pictures/drawings. adorn with glitter, sequins, etc.

make a TV model using shadow-play. make the cube for TV box but for the screen use tracing paper. inside the hollow of the cube place a candle or a light bulb [this is safer but you will need batteries or a plug-point]. take a rectangle of black paper & cut out stencils in it such that it tells a story or shows different visuals. roll it into a hollow cylinder & glue the edges together. use a string to hang. place this around the light source. when the bulb is lit, twirl the stringed cylinder around - it will throw shadows of the stencil on the screen & the "audience" can see moving images.

make a wish jar using cubes instead of cards.

make a beam balance [with 2 cubes] or weighing kitchen scale.

a container for file-o-fax or for visiting cards, etc.

an explosion box — here's the site -
http://www.papercraftcentral.com/explosi… — Explosion box
http://www.papercraftcentral.com/paper-ball.html — for paper ball that is actually a cube & can be used to adorn Xmas tress, etc. or write a message/quotation,…

how about a cubie evening purse? use construction paper for this & add strings for handles.

hope these inspire
all the best - have fun :-))

I love making jewelry. I have done it since I was about 10 years old. But now i would like a website that would have nice…yet no so expensive supply. Does anybody know of nice websites?

Both of these companies offer free shipping:
http://www.artbeads.com
http://www.fusionbeads.com

Other sites:

http://www.jewelrysupply.com
http://www.beadinpath.com
http://www.firemountaingems.com

Hope this helps.

Hi

Im from north london and was wondering if any of you can help me, I really want to start making my own Jewelry and have no idea how to start this, I am hoping to maybe get a couple of my own stalls or even hire out a section in shops etc, I really like funky/different styles of jewelry and just really want to start doing this. Any advice on how to start, maybe any courses around north london that anyone knows off?

Thanks.

Before worrying about the business side you need to just teach yourself the skills. You just need to buy some basic tools (a pair of round-nosed pliers, a pair of flat-nosed pliers and some cutters). Just get some books out of the library and practise the techniques. I am sure some of the colleges and adult education centres in London will run courses. You need to concentrate on getting your skills perfect and on discovering your own style before launching into the business side of things.

I am trying to get in to making hama jewelry to earn myself a little more money over the summer holidays I can find everything else I need in HobbyCraft at the fort but I can't find metal chains to put the pendents I made on. Any ideas?

try e-bay.

or I buy trace trains made by beadalon, there are many sites to use, the one I use most is Just Beads and also mailorder-beads.co.uk, if you buy the trace chains you will need to buy jump rings and fastenings, I recommend just beads for these.

they are quite inexpensive and good quality.

I work on a farm that has peacocks, and we sell the feathers that drop every year. But we have started to make earrings with the tips, and now we are looking for new ideas on what we could create and sell for some minor revenue.

Ideas we have already had include other jewelry, such as necklaces or brooches, as well as keychain ornaments or clear bookmarks.

If you could buy something made with real feathers, what would you be willing to get?

Fascinator for my hair.
