Make your own gold bracelets
I’d suggest to look for project instructions at one of the beading magazines, such as Bead and Button: http://www.beadandbutton.com/
After you’ve selected your favorite project, replace silver and other metals with gold and write down all the gold findings and gold materials you need. I would then check for these gold components with Pasternak Findings: http://www.pasternakfindings.com/category/Gold
Enjoy!

Well, you can go down to your local Michaels craft store, they sell really beautiful jewlery accessories. As for gold, that might be a little more challenging to find, you would most likely have to call a refinery and set up some sort of deal with them. Hope This Helps

I went into Micheals yesterday to look up some hobbies I can take up as I have none and never had one. I went into this isle by accident and saw such beautiful beads and other jewlery pieces hanging up on the wall that I could complete or add things to. Anyway I want to make earrings first as I love earrings more. What are some good Beginner books I should look into? Also what about beginner jewelry making kits?
They had beginner books at Micheals, but it had 2 books like "getting started wire making" and "getting started beading" and I am unsure of which is the right one for me as no one at that store was very helpful yesterday.
The problem with the books is they don’t always give you a good introduction to all the different TYPES of bead and jewellery work you can do. Beginner books are pretty useless I found as all they do is show the bare basics of knotting and using pliers- something most people who aren’t complete idiots already know how to do!
I found this book to have a very good overview of most of the techniques used, not many projects but does give good and clear instructions on most techniques.

Basically the tools you need depend on what TYPE of beading/jewellery you want to make, I went out and purchased EVERYTHING the book I borrowed from the library said I needed and most of it sits in the bottom of my bead bag gathering dust because I don’t use the techniques those tools were meant for!
I do thread work mostly, in my case wire and pliers were a complete waste of money, mine is all knotted thread and needle weaving. I only need beads, thread and a needle!
For earrings you will need round nose pliers and wire cutters, other pliers are dependant on whether you want to go into the fancy wire work or decide to branch more into polymer clay work. If you decide to branch into polymer clay a kiln and torch may be a good investment, these tools are also a must if you decide to go into lampwork beading (that’s a bit advanced though)

There’s a lot of places that offer metal casting for jewelry, but I don’t know where to begin to search for resources that would allow me to cast silicone jewelry.I want to make conceptual, designer type jewelry in this durable material. Whenever I try to use google, it only gives me results for how to make silicone molds from those hobby kits or for those mass produced "livestrong" type bracelets. I want bright, beautiful silicone colors that they use these days for anything from oven mitts to ice cube molds to body jewelry and this http://www.amazon.com/Silly-Bandz-Pet-Animals-Pack/dp/B002QB31AC. So does anyone have any idea where I can begin?
I suggest you try this manufacturer Smooth-on

I would try to make some jewelry, specifically necklaces. I’ve got a couple of arrowheads and wanted to make one into a necklace for my boyfriend. He’s got a Dremel that I can use to make a hole in the arrowhead. What else do I need? Suggested jewelry making kits? I want to be able to make other kinds of necklaces too because I’m sure whatever I buy will give me extra materials.
At most of the large, hobby/crafting type stores (we have, for example, "hobby lobby" near us) you can buy inexpensive metal (silver, brass, whatever) fittings. Get whatever size/style you like. These may be easily glued onto the arrowhead, so that a chain or leather thong can be strung through it. (I think the leather stringing would look nice for arrowheads, but chose what you like).
I would not recommend drilling holes in the arrowhead itself, because it’s likely to break or otherwise ruin it. (Drilling through rock is actually a grinding process, not like drilling through wood.) Also, using the eyelet things will allow you to string the pieces so that they orient in a more pleasing way, when hanging from the chain.
One other idea is that you can use jump rings (also cheap, purchase same place) to connect the fitted arrowheads to a chain or thong.
This method is an easy, cheap way to get started, and at most of those stores there are kits, and tons of beads, etc, that may give you other ideas for jewelry-making. You could, for example, get some beads that make an attractive combination for the arrowhead necklace.

I am new to jewelry making, and I am looking for some helpful sites or tips to help me get started. I am not really into beading, more like chains, pendants and charms. I have already bought some chains, charms, a 7 piece tool-kit, findings, clasps and a few beads to add in contrast. I just have no idea where to start or how to add things onto the rope chain I bought. All the magazines I have seen are like 7.99 and only have ideas for crafts, I actually need step by step how to start a craft and how to add things onto chain. So if anyone has some good ideas or knows any sites I’d really appreciate it!
a couple of good ones i know of

Hi, i want to change my belly button barbell but i dont have anything to change it into. Do you think that i could make it dangly by getting my jewelry kit and joining a chain and some beads to it? Will it or wont it work? If you need to know on the 23 of march 2010 the piercing is 3 months old, will it get rejected if i get a dangly one.?
Making your own jewelry is going to be more expensive than just buying some.
Navel piercings can take 6-12 months to completely heal. I doubt yours is completely healed at 3 months old…do not change it yet. Especially not to a heavy, dangly barbell.
