1) Rub your silver jewelry using a clean cloth. If the item leaves black marks in it, the item is sterling silver. Why not purchase real Silver Chains?
2) Nitric acid is the best solution to test silver jewelry. Once applied, it leaves a permanent green mark to prove if the jewelry is real or fake. Why not purchase real Silver Jewelry Making Supplies?
@ Sterling Silver Jewelry is essential to any collection. Enjoy it!

When you sweat heavily and have it on, fake sterling silver usually starts to discolor. Or when the jewelry catches some of your perfume.

I went to the craft store and bought some wire but it says stringing wire. Will that work?
Also whats a good website to buy jewelry making supplies from?
Stringing wire is generally softer so it will drape around the neck or wrist. Stringing wire will be marked with a diameter measurement, 0.018", 0.015", etc. The wire you’ll need for wire wrapping will be marked with a gauge measurement, 18 ga, 20 ga, etc.
The gauge to use will depend on the size of what you’re wrapping. A large stone or bead can take a larger wire (smaller gauge number), a smaller stone or bead will need a smaller wire (larger gauge number).
I would probably start with an 18 or 20 gauge wire, because it’s easier to get it to stay in the shape you want. 16 gauge is heavier and more difficult to bend. 22 gauge is lighter and easier to bend by accident.
There are a lot of good online sources for jewelry supplies: firemountaingems.com, artbeads.com, beadaholique.com, limabeads.com, and shipwreckbeads.com are some of the sites I use.

I’m looking to buy a lot of beads for really cheap. I mean like 300-500 beads for like $2-5 or something. Cheap beads, not like real gems or anything; glass, plastic, and cheap silver parts/pendants. I’ve searched ebay and some sites but have had little luck. Anyone design jewelry and/or know of good places? Good shipping prices a plus…
No i have not tried ebay thats why I mentioned it in my question…
Here are a few good online sites to check out. Shipwreck Beads has a physical store in Washington, if you happen to be in the area, and Fire Mountain Gems (a little more upscale pricing but great wholesale deals) and Oriental Trading Co. are long-time favorites of crafters.
Good luck!

i love to make jewelry, and i was wondering what store or website sells cheap jewelry supplies?? Thank you!
There are an awful lot of suppliers on ebay who do different clasps and fish hooks etc. You’re guaranteed to get a cheap price and make sure you check the feedback to ensure you’re getting a quality product before buying.
Hobby Craft also sell jewellery making kits and what not but it’d be more expensive I should think.
