I don’t really have a business but I make chainmaille jewelry and sell it online and at craft fairs. What should I name it? I would like it to have to do with the fact that the jewelry is unique or have a medieval or fantasy name. Any suggestions?
This is a great article about - How to Select a Company or Product Name - http://www.developer-resource.com/how-to-select-a-company-name.htm
The article has some good advice on how to research names, and what to becareful of.

I recently started picking up jewelry making and want to buy some Swarovski beads. What are some of the best places to purchase genuine Swarovski elements?
I have found three online store: Artbeads, Firemountaingems, and Fusion Beads.
Have anyone shopped with any of the three before. Which one offers the best price?
Any other suggestions?
This is good because you will be chatting with other buyers and can exchange experiences with other traders about products and sources.

Where can I get wire for jewelry making? My local craft store doesn’t have anything but bead wire.
If you don’t have a dedicated bead store or a Joanns or a Walmart nearby, you’ll probably need to look on-line.
Good beading supply sources include:
Joann Fabrics at http://www.joann.com/
Fire Mountain Gems at http://www.firemountaingems.com/
and Shipwreck Beads at http://www.shipwreckbeads.com/
Good luck!

I’m looking for a store where I can find materials for resin jewelry making such as molds, mold release and the like.
Thanks.
Often you can find supplies for making resin jewelry at craft stores, art supply stores, and sometime hobby stores, as well as finding craft-quality epoxy resin at hardware stores…don’t polyester resins there though–won’t be craft quality.
If you want more than a few molds, or a few types of clear resin and brands of each though, you’ll probably want to go online:

You might also want to check out the info I have on this page at my site re resins–using them, brands, tutorials, examples, etc:

And you might want to read some of my previous answers about resin here at YA for some summarized info in these questions:

I would like to know what metals are best to use for jewelry making in terms of lifespan, safety, and not discolouring etc. Many thanks!
I know to avoid lead, nickel and tibetan silver. Are there any other similar metals to avoid?
My mom makes jewelry from silver wire, it’s easy to come by, not expensive (in terms of jewelry) and easy to handle. You can find it in different girths and add beads and other items. With silver being a precious metal it’s easier to promote your pieces afterwards.
That’s just from seeing my mom work with the material, I’m a guy and don’t really have first hand experience.
Oh and yeah, silver doesn’t rust and has a good, long, discoloring-free lifespan.

I’m making a pair of rings for my jewelry class and I need to find a place where I can buy stones or jewels for the rings. Like a craft store or something that wouldn’t be incredibly expensive. Looking for places in Columbus, Ohio.
Have you ever thought about trying something online? I’m not sure exactly what kind of Gems you are looking for but if it’s just something like Cubic Zirconia or Lab Sapphire, http://www.jamminggems.com/ has great prices and a big variety of colors/shapes/sizes. If you need to get it at a storefront I don’t know of any off hand that would have loose Gemstones for sale.

I’m rather new to making jewelry, and I’ve been having some difficulty with connector pendants that are flat backed. It seems when chain is attached to the sides to form the necklace (as opposed to hanging from the middle, like in a traditional pendant), the pendant often flips over during wear, so that it is upside down or backwards.
Does anyone know how to keep this from happening? (I hope I explained it clearly). It probably has something to do with weight distribution, but I was trying to keep it simple.
Well you are correct about the weight distribution I have been making jewelry for awhile now and have come across this problem before as well. One thing you could try is to use a heavier chain so that its less likely for the chain to twist itself while your wearing it. Another idea is to find large holed beads (only large enough to fit on the chain too big is bad) and string them onto the chain but making sure the sides are equally weighted by using the same beads and same size of beads on either side it also gives chained pendants a cool and unique look.

What are the basic tools and supplies i need to get started on making jewelry. and does anyone know any good websites or books to help me learn?
Chain nose pliers — like needle nose pliers but on ridges to mark your metal.
Cutters — diagonal or flush, and memory wire cutters if you plan to use memory wire.
Round nose pliers to make loops.
Crimping pliers are nice to make finished crimps, although you can get by with chain nose pliers.
Flat nose pliers if you intend to do wire working.
You will need
beads,
stringing material(s) depending on your project
such as monofilament (aka fishing line - get ‘low memory’),
nylon coated wire such as Beadalon or Accu-Flex (0.15 or 0.18 are good), bead thread
ear wires or clip-on earring backs if you want to make earrings
Clasps such as lobster claws, toggles
Jump rings, head pins and/or eye pins
Crimp tubes or beads
Work over a towel or a design board or sticky mat
Michaels has several kits which give you most of the components you need to begin for $16.99.
There are also several packages which combine several things such as head pins, stringing material, crimps, and jump rings in one package — Jewelry Essentials has one for $2.99 and one by Blue Moon for $3.99.
For tutorials check out Fire Mountain Gems http://www.firemountaingems.com/ — see beading instructions and EncycloBEADia — scroll down and find the section "Jewelry Makers Library".
Many of the bead manufacturers have tutorials also.
Try http://search.yippy.com/ and type in beading tutorials or something similar.
If you are interested in wireworking, WigJig University is excellent.
Many bead sellers have tutorials and galleries where you can get inspiration.
You might want to subscribe to Beading Daily <beadingdaily@interweave.com> — they have a daily free newsletter sometimes offering a free pattern and free trial of one of several beading magazines. The magazines have lots of ads for online bead stores for additional resources.

If you are looking for wedding rings / gold ring blanks, I’d definitely refer you to Pasternak Findings: http://www.pasternakfindings.com/category/gold_ring
Another good supplier would be Cookson: http://www.cooksongold.com/Cast-Rings/
