Archive for making bead jewelry

I have really got into making beaded jewelry. But I’m tired of going to my local crafts stores like
Jo-ann, Micheals and Hobby Lobby for jewelry stuff. Are there any good websites that carry reasonable beads and supplies online?

Hi little k,

Aside from Fire Mountain Gem, there’s also Auntie’s Beads.com, Beadaholique.com and Jewelry Supply.com. You might also like to watch jewelry making tutorial videos and download free pdf you can visit http://diylessons.org/

Hope that helps!

A few bead making websites and magazine websites have public message boards and some have buy and sell categories. Posting an ad where beaders hang out -such as a beading site would be a great place to start. About.com has both beading and jewelrymaking forums so checking out either of those places would be a good idea.

I need to know this for when I price my services…

5 dollars an hour. It isn’t too much, and you can add the price of your materials, plus a little extra so you make a profit

I am looking for a make-your-own jewelry store somewhere in the Orange County, CA area. The kind where everything is laid out for you in the shop to make a necklace or a bracelet right there in the store. I know I’ve seen them before! Or if not that, then at least a store where I can find affordable jewelry/beading supplies. I’m planning an outing for a pre-teen girl. Thanks so much for your help!

Laguna beach has a crazy awesome bead store. I’ll search for it. here is a google link

i have before but i quit and imma be working with a REALLY experienced lady this summer and i know there are soooo many things i can make, and since i am a beginner imma have to do simple thing and i have pamplets and pages on how to create certain things.

i wanna make necklaces, bracelets, earrings, cell phone charms, and bookmarks. and this morning i discovered beaded foot jewelry and it looks cool

and i havent been able to find whole sale charms, i look everywhere, and i am still lookin but cant find any, so where do you orders your beads and pendents and supplies from?

also i dont want to buy 200pcs of ONE kinda bead, i want to buy a HUGE assortment, and i havent been able to faind those either

can you help me??

Hi. I order my stuff from artbeads.com because they are the only ones who would ship to me, here in Barbados. I also contacted beadc.com, firemountaingems.com and there’s also shipwreckbeads.com that comes to mind. Not sure where you’re located but your options may be different depending on your location. You can order as much or as little as you want, and it’s a good idea to check out the learning center on artbeads for techniques, also you could buy a book or two which have patterns and could give you some good ideas. Good luck with your beading!

I am looking for uk based jewellery making suppliers that are reasonably priced and reliable, thanks in advance for any help

Hi I used to make Jewellery but now I prefer to source pre made pieces instead. It really depends what type of jewellery you want to make.
The Beadshop Scotland. They have a great selection of Polymer clay food and sweetie charms like Lovehearts etc. http://www.beadshopscotland.co.uk/
The Beadshop Manchester is great for the basic findings that you will need for making each piece such as the charm bracelet, jump rings, split rings, earring bases, backs, ring backs etc http://www.the-beadshop.co.uk/
Beadsunlimited are good aswell. http://www.beadsunlimited.co.uk/
My Vintage Charms have fab vintage style charms. They take great care packaging orders up but it does a little while for them to deliver.
The internet if full of lots of different site. I would recommend that you buy online. Its mcuh cheaper than buying from bricks and mortar store.
Hope this helps!

I am going to start making beaded jewelry necklaces. bracelets, rings, bobbypins, anklets, hairbands…etc. and i would like to come up with a creative name for my jewelry business. my first and middle name is Jessica Ann. if anyone has some creative names with my name in it or if you can think of other creative business names. let me know!!

Jessica, I search a lot of jewellery sites myself, and what I want is for that site to tell me what they do as soon as I look at it to save wasting time, I suggest you keep it simple and as you have a beautiful name just incorporate it with something like;
BEADED JEWELLERY BY JESSICA ANN
This tells a lot more than you would think, it tells me it is beaded jewellery, probably hand/personnally made and who by and to be honest to me and others for all we know you could be famous and just might make us take another look.
Good luck with your enterprise.

Try this:
Start this project by stringing a large amount of beads onto the wire while still keeping the wire attached to it’s spool
Bend the wire around a bead then twist the bead into the wire chain nose pliers to form about a 1/2" long twist for each bead.
Continue with this process until all of the beads are used. Don’t worry about having what seems like a lot of beads, it will fill in the wreath. Once all the beads are strung, snip the wire a few inches from the last bead. You will use this extra wire to secure the beginning and end of the bead "chain" to the wreath form.
I wrapped the bead chain and the individual bead twists to the wreath form all the way around and secured the jump ring with the untwisted end of the wire. Make sure that your beads are arranged so as not to leave blank spaces.
Tie a ribbon to the jump ring loop at the top to finish.
You can get more idea from this http://www.craftsadvisor.com/jewelry-and-craft-business-from-home/ . This is regularly updated with great new projects and techniques, so visit regularly to stay up to date .May you have hours of fun!

There are beads and about 15 classes. The people are really helpful and the classes are inexpensive. I really like it here… I got to make an anklet for a friend of mine here at the store without having to buy all of the tools. And someone was always close by.‎
