So I’m really into scrapbooking and jewelry making and anything like that really. But supplies are so expensive to get! (I live in Australia)
I was just wondering if anyone knew of any online places to buy from besides eBay and Etsy because they are both quite expensive too.

Strange Jewelry making supplies from grab bag?

Hi all! I recently received a grab bag of stuff from Fire Mountain. Included were several chains of "gems" already set into metal. Basically they would be a necklace (kind of like a tennis necklace, but the "gems" are further apart), but there is no clasp, and no way I can tell to add one. They just end with another little gem in a setting. They are really pretty, but I have no idea what to do with them. Has anybody else used these before?

How to take pictures of resin jewelry?

I like crafting, making resin jewelry in particular and I’d like to show off some of my stuff online but I can’t ever get a good picture. Either the flash takes up the whole piece of jewelry or you can’t see what’s inside the resin. Any tips for a non-photographer? I have a Nikon D30.
Like I said, I’m not a photographer and I don’t really want to buy anything extra. I’m just looking for some tips for a better picture, it doesn’t have to be perfect or professional.

You can make a light tent from a cardboard box as described in this link, however it might require you to buy a lamp and a special light bulb (if you don’t already have them):

Or, since you say the photos don’t need to be "perfect," you could simply take a white sheet, drape it over a chair for a clean backdrop and place the chair near a window to light the photo with natural light.

Don’t use your flash. Direct flash is too harsh of a light source. And use the Macro setting on your camera for close-up shots.

How can an 11 year old earn money?

My friend is 11 years old and she really wants to earn some money. There is no way she can earn money from her parents or relatives. She can’t buy and resell anything or buy jewelry making kits because she has no money to begin with.

Also, how can she start making money in a certain way? Take dog walking, for example, how would she get started? There is nowhere she can post flyers.

you don’t have to post posters. have you ever read the book lawn boy? its about a kid who earns millions of dollars just from mowing lawns and investing in some businesses. not saying you should mow lawns, but you might want to read it, really short don’t worry i don’t even like reading and i think it’s short. he started by just going house to house and offering his services, so just do that and you can get started.
