Are you in the US? I get most of my beading supplies from Hobby Lobby as the nearest "good" bead stores are over 100 miles away.

There’s a 40% off coupon for any item on their website and I believe they sell beginner kits.

Beading is fun and unbelievably easy. Your biggest investment is going to be a set of tools (crimper, flat nose pliers and round nose pliers, which can be found as a set for less than $20)

Try the public library for instruction books, or buy the most recent copy of Bead ‘n’ Style magazine. Complete instructions on the basics are included in all of their issues and their projects range from beginner to expert.

Definitely try Michael’s. They are an excellent craft supplier. I go there all the time and have seen jewelery making kits there.

Hobbycraft are usually pretty good, as are most Craft shops. Large Garden Centres tend to stock stuff like that!
