A clay recipe that would be good for jewelry making?

im wanting to make earrings, hair clips, necklaces, everything. It needs it be a clay that can hold its self together well. air dry or baking, it doesn’t matter.

There is a ceramic material that is as old as dirt itself, used by the Egyptians to make beads and inlaid pieces that bears their name. It’s called Egyptian Paste. A web search will turn up a recipe or possibly a source to purchase it premixed. If I am not mistaken it fires at low kiln temperatures but will require the use of a bead stand since the material is actually very close to being a glaze material and would ruin kiln shelves if fired on them. It is clay like so should be able to be shaped into forms other than beads. But it isn’t really used for objects that are larger than what you might find as jewelry. Other clays can be used as well. You will just have to work small and if glazed the same precautions against ruining kiln shelves will have to be taken.. And there are of course the various synthetic clay-like materials that are available.,sculpey,etc. Link about Egyptian Paste:

I had a couple but have misplaced them somewhere…duh! But if you do a search for clay jewellry crafts, that should give you a few and you can check them out and pick the one you want. Good luck and have fun with this endeavour.
