   I am giving you a list of the ones who tell what tools are needed. Why don’t you look through then and see if they duplicate each other and compare prices. This way you can get what you need at a price that would be the best for you. Hope that this will help you. Also there are several places for stones and if you get to that point and can’t find anything email me and I will try to find a few sites for you to check out.

   You should be able to go into a craft shop and buy a basic set to start out with. The one I started out with cost about $15 AU and had 6 tools in it. It had standard, needle nose, round nose and a couple of wire cutting pliers. It was enough to start out with. Saves on spending a lot of money if you don’t like the craft, if you do then you can add more specilalist tools or go up in quality.

   Hello there,

   I used to make handcrafted jewelry. Displayed and sold my work at arts shows. That was how I made money for college. Continued on as a hobby after that. Perhaps I can help you. I am a little unclear on the jewelry making process that you are going to be doing. Is it wire wrap jewelry. Hemp woven jewelry. I made jewelry from sterling, construction and forging. I doubt if you plan to do any soldering or hammering (forging). Explain a little about what type of jewelry you will be making and I will check back and give you some specific recommendations.

   Basic tools: Needle nosed pliers, regular pliers, some boxes to store your stones, scissors, and a soft mat or cloth. You really do not need to invest too much when starting out, but having a pair of good needle nose pliers is definitely a must. This is all you need for handmade jewellery other than the supplies themselves.
   Next step is to know how to wire wrap and finish of jewellery. Of course if you have friends who can show you, all you need is to practice and you’re good to go.
