So cute but I can’t justify the price. Anyone know of good places to find beads like this?

For instance, I can’t really get any fancy metal-working tools, though I’d still like to try making some metal jewelry. I was thinking that I could use wire, but do you have any other ideas? Would glue work, and if so what kind?

I do metal smithing. All you need is an anvil (I use a section of polished rail road track bolted to a stump) and a polished ball-peen hammer.

You should have some sort of heat source that will make your metal red to straw colored…you can make a simple forge with an old charcoal bar b-q and a hair dryer.

There are a bunch of YouTube videos on the subject.
Also, have a look at sand casting videos.

I’m a new jewelry making supplies retailer. In order to learn more experience, I want to be a part of it. So anyone could tell me where to find a forum, website or community to communicate with other people. Any suggestion will be appreciated.
Hi, I need some suggestions from colleagues. If you are not, Please save your time and don’t answer

Try http://www.ganoksin.com/ & join the Orchid email list therein.

I am looking for a place (in Seoul) with many shops selling both retail and wholesale jewelry making supplies like beads, ear hook, head pins, charms…etc

There is an email list for jewelers called Orchid (http://www.ganoksin.com/) based in Thailand.
You really should join it!

i want to make some jewelry for my self something casual

If you just want to use beadwork, this website has some patterns that can be used to make bracelets, hat bands, barrettes, or belts: http://www.free-beading-patterns.com/
It also has a couple of printable grids you can use to create your own patterns.

You can do the beadweaving using a loom: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5wAGNUx7I8

Or you can weave by hand using these popular stitches
Square stitch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pnhK_Gdex4
Peyote stitch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-3G2zUWPLM

You can make a spiral rope bracelet or necklace: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00IXIrxLph8

Or follow a pattern like this: http://www.sandradhalpenny.com/B0129.html

You could also make a simple stranded bracelet with dangling "charms" like this: http://www.sandradhalpenny.com/3568.html

For variety, you could add some beaded beads, like these: http://jewelrymaking.about.com/od/seedbeadprojectsinfo/ss/peyote-beaded-bead.htm

Or these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqfvRgCPLMo

Have fun!

I have recently gotten into jewelry making, and I was wondering, what kind of metal is ok to use for making earring hooks? (other than silver and gold) would copper, stainless steel or other ones work aswell?

Roddy says it pretty well, but it’s important. The only suitable metals for ear wires are gold and stainless steel. Even silver isn’t very good, but it’s OK. Silver makes the list, but only just barely. You can make your actual jewelry out of anything you want to, but the wires need to be one of those metals. It’s not because copper will turn their ears green, it’s because infection is guaranteed. Well, titanium would be fine, too, but I’ve never seen those widely available.

I’m looking for plain silver/gold plated necklaces for making my own jewellery. I’ve seen some 16" ones but I was hoping for some 18" ones.

I’ve found quite a few cute and quirky charms for them but if anyone knows where there are some more I’d be infinitely grateful :)

Thanks in advance.

Most major art stores have a great selection of jewelry making stuff bc its becoming so popular.
