How do I sell my jewelry online?

I make unique jewelry-every single piece is different and cannot be reproduced. I would like to set up a website with my own domain name and be able to sell my items online. i don’t want a shop like etsy, but i don’t have a big budget. i’m looking for a website that is under $10 a month and that i can put multiple photos of each product. also, when someone buys it, i need the photos to disappear so that i don’t have more than one person trying to buy the item. i’ve checked out paypal storefront, but they only allow one photo. i’ve already purchased a site on webstarts.com, but it’s not what i’m looking for. please help!

I think bigcartel.com would be a good option for you and meets your specific needs. For $9.99 a month, you can list up to 25 products and use your own domain url. Plus they have lots of templates you can easily customize. It’s much cheaper then hiring someone to help you design your website and buying hosting.

If you have someone who is fairly computer savvy, you could try a free shopping cart program like Zen-cart. It’s very customizable and you can have it set up so that products will disappear when they are out of stock.

You can also accept payment solely through Paypal or another similar payment processor rather than pay the fees Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express charge just to accept payments. I think we paid about $20 a month just to be able to accept those four cards, plus processing fees. Paypal would only charge the processing fees, which you would only get when you sell an item.

There are quite a few hosting companies out there that can host your site for under $10 a month, especially as you just get started. If you are a mom, you can get a site at WAHMhosting fairly cheaply, too, and they use osCommerce, which is similar to ZenCart, if I recall correctly!
