How much is the string to make them (without the charm). Does the string come in a kit with directions on how to make or what? Thanks!

yeah. you can get like a pack of colored floss and they sometimes have directions. if not, you can find directions online. they’re pretty easy. a pack can range from maybe 5-10 dollars at most craft stores

Looks like they’re made of embroidery floss which cost’s about a dollar a skien maybe or like $7 for a variety pack containing many skiens of different colors. (A skien is this little bundle of thread which usually has about nine yards of floss). Single skiens don’t comes with instructions for bracelets because thats no it’s primary purpose (and they wouldn’t fit) and i don’t think multi packs do either. There are many books out there that have instructions for friendship bracelets , though, and there will probably be something like that in these.
Those bracelets are made by wrapping string around a base string. First tie a slip knot (instructions online) and put it onto the base pulling it tight. Fold the tail so that it lies parallel to the base (you’ll have to hold it there) then begin wrapping the long end around the base and tail (you’ll want to make the tail short enough to end before you want to switch colors, but long enough that it can be secured in this manner). To switch colors wrap the thread around the base loosely, then thread the end through the loop, pull tight then push next to all the other threads cut your string short leaving 1/2 an inch to fold into the base when wrapping the next color. You could also do this across instead of wrapping it, but a small ridge may form.

I have made these as a child. Some people call them friendship bracelets. I call them knotted bracelets.
They are made using cross stitch string.
I can sell you a kit if you would like. Just let me know. If you would like, I can put a "how to" on my blog for you.

I’m sorry it took me so long to answer you but my Mother had a stroke.

The string cost me $8.00. Nor does it come in a kit. I am just getting started in making jewelry.

    Thxs for the contact.
