I’ve read up a lot on how to make resin jewelry and I’m very interested in starting. My only problem is finding ring/necklace bases appropriate for resin jewelry making, that won’t break my wallet!
The cheapest I’ve found so far is $9 + Shipping for a pack of 10
But a friend of mine online swears when she did resins she could find some for $5 in packs of 10. (She can’t remember the company name though so her statement may be inaccurate).
Any clue where I can get some slightly less expensive bases for resin ring and necklace making? Links are greatly appreciated!
(I’m meaning the rings/necklaces that are a little bit deep so you can pour the resin into the item overtop of the image and etc…not just regular ring and necklace bases)
Check out this previous answer I wrote here for some places to find "bezels," "cabachon settings," and backed-frames like that for putting epoxy resin into:

This page at my site also has lessons on using resins (you’ll want epoxy resin for this if you use a resin), as well as info on using them, brands, etc:

…click especially on the subcategory called IN OTHER CELLS
Btw, you can also make your own bases like those into which you can pour epoxy resin (or other clear water-based liquids), from polymer clay, and you can even make polymer clay look like metal, and also create mini-frames from polymer clay by hand or by using molds (or molds you’ve made), etc.
For more info on those things, look at these pages:

2010 Feb 21 1I don’t know if they sell what you need, but the folks at Fire Mountain Gems are very helpful. Check out their site and then call or email them if you need to. They have very affordable shipping if you do find what you need.
Otherwise, find the name of the company that makes the resin and try calling them or see if they have a website.
